Most
of Sarkis' work is derived from life with an interpretation
influenced by lifelong experiences and feelings. Vibrant
and exciting colors are essential for his satisfaction
with the end results. He enjoys paintings in oils, acrylics,
watercolors, pastels, and inks. Sarkis paints many different
subjects, but he really enjoys painting landscapes on location
and figure painting or drawing from models. Although he
occasionally travels and paints outside Oregon, he spends
most of his time in Oregon's Willamette Valley, especially
in the area around Cheshire where he has lived with his
wife Karen since 1970.
One
of Sarkis' greatest joys is plein
air painting. Below
are photos from a plein air workshop given August 2007.
